ENTREPRENEURIAL NI WELCOMES EER EVALUATION PANEL

Some of Northern Ireland’s best entrepreneurs, support bodies, plus local / central government policy makers and politicians came together to receive a delegation from the EU’s Committee of the Regions in Belfast on 21st September 2016. This mission came out of the European Entrepreneurial Region (EER) Recognition Award won by NILGA for Northern Ireland in 2015.

Cllr Seán McPeake, President of the Northern Ireland Local Government Association (NILGA) welcomed Finance Minister Máirtín Ó Muilleoir's call for local businesses to avail of the Back in Business initiative, with a 50% rate reduction for up to a year for businesses in a retail property that was previously empty.

iEER project kicked off with high level commitment to supporting young entrepreneurs

Over a hundred participants from all over Europe attended the iEER kick-off conference on June 28th, 2016 in Brussels. The EU-funded project aims to boost the collaboration of European actors in order to support young entrepreneurship.

The Sinn Féin Party’s, Councillor Seán McPeake was agreed by all parties as President of NILGA at the Association’s AGM on Friday 24th June 2016 in Craigavon Civic Centre.
