Down District Council's Chairperson, Cllr Maria McArthy, ensured that the best of Down District was on show in Boston and Washington DC after joining forces with NILGA Office Bearer and colleague, Cllr Dermot Curran. She sent two beautiful images of the Mourne Mountains via the Northern Ireland Local Government Association's Chief Executive, Derek McCallan. A resident of Crossgar, Derek was appointed and sponsored by the US State Department to visit both American Cities earlier this month as part of developing better policies and services across government, both central and local, in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and the United States.
