Translink Ulster in Bloom

The Translink Ulster in Bloom competition, now in its 39th year continues to blossom and attract great interest and support from: councils; local ‘In – Bloom’ committees; the business community; and many residents from across Northern Ireland.  Council entry for the 2017 competition is now open and entries will be accepted until 14th April 2017.

In 2016, all 11 new council areas participated entering a total of 125 places in the various categories of cities, towns and villages. The judging panel reported a very noticeable improvement in standards of horticulture and also noted a significant improvement in the standard of cleanliness.

Places are judged using the criteria set by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). The key areas focused on are horticultural achievement, environmental responsibility and
community participation.

Ulster in Bloom is administered, supported and coordinated by NILGA and the competition is generously funded by Translink.
