THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ANNUAL CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION 2016

On 6 October 2016, just under 200 delegates – Ministers, MLAs, council elected members, senior officers and many key business, environmental and social partners attended the Northern Ireland Local Government Association (NILGA) Annual Conference at the Everglades Hotel, Derry/Londonderry. ‘Growing Enterprise, Strengthening Communities’ – Local Councils Delivering in the Digital Age, was supported by Ulster University, Tourism NI, Hospitality Ulster, NIIRTA and Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE).

The conference included input from deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness MLA., Paul Givan MLA, Minister for Communities, Peter Weir MLA, Minister of Education and Chris Hazzard MLA, Minister for Infrastructure. Chaired by broadcaster Jim Fitzpatrick, delegates shared in a dynamic day of delivery and debate focused on improving local economies, enhancing good government and sustaining communities right across Northern Ireland.
