The NILGA Conference 2026 will consider The Politics of Delivery: Leading Through Uncertainty. As we prepare for a new local government mandate in May 2027, the conference will address global political & financial strain, fragile trust in politics & rising expectations, and consider how councils can still deliver outcomes through transparency, values-led choices, and collaboration. Speakers will set out a vision for courageous leadership when the stakes are high, resources are low, and compromise is unavoidable, and how innovation with communities can contribute to strengthening trust.
Conference Sessions
1. Delivering for Communities in Uncertain Times
2. Innovation and Trust at the Local Level
NILGA represents the ‘Voice of Local Government’ in Northern Ireland. The conference is a key event for the local government sector and offers a direct route to the political leaders of councils in Northern Ireland.
