What is Allyship:
The active and consistent practice of using one's own privilege and position to support and advocate for individuals or groups who are marginalized or underrepresented. It's about taking action, not just holding beliefs, to dismantle systemic barriers and foster equitable environments.

• Improved understanding of the challenges and experiences of marginalised councillors and groups.
• Skills and capabilities in identifying councillors’ own biases, privileges and perspectives to understand how they impact others.
